BAFTA Television Craft nomination for ‘Human Planet: Oceans’

Human Planet: Oceans has been nominated for a BAFTA Television Craft award in the ‘Best Photography for a Factual Program’ category. The BAFTA Television Craft awards recognise behind-the-scenes talent in the television industry and will take place on Sunday 8 May. The four nominees in the factual photography category are:

Will Edwards, Doug Allan, Matt NormanHuman Planet (Arctic)
Gavin Thurston, Robin Cox, Pete HaynsHuman Planet (Jungles)
Simon Enderby, Robin Cox, Richard WollocombeHuman Planet (Oceans)

Overall, Human Planet was the most nominated show with seven individual nominations. Scubazoo were of course part of the Oceans camera team and were responsible for shooting two underwater sequences for the Oceans episode – a Bajau spear fisherman holding his breath for two and a half minutes and a dangerous mass fishing scene in the Philippines.

Update: Human Planet (Arctic) won the BAFTA for Best Photography for a Factual Programme. Congratulations to Will Edwards, Doug Allan, Matt Norman and the rest of the Arctic team from all of us at Scubazoo.
