Kungkungan Bay Resort (KBR) Promotional Video

scubazooBlog

Kungkungan Bay Resort is the original critter-diving resort in Lembeh, Sulawesi. It’s thought by many divers to have the finest muck, or critter, diving in the world. In 2007 Scubazoo were contracted to produce a promotional DVD which would justify the Lembeh hype and also showcase the beautiful Minahasan-style resort. The HD underwater footage had to have a massive wow factor, so to get the footage they needed Scubazoo underwater cameramen Jason Isley and Roger Munns spent over two weeks at KBR. The pair dived for around 6 hours a day and not only captured footage of beautiful and rare creatures such as the Rhinopias, the mimic octopus, hairy frogfish and the flamboyant cuttlefish but also filmed some crazy feeding behaviour including a frogfish eating a poisonous lionfish and a seahorse being attacked by a flounder! The topside footage was shot over several days to complement the stunning underwater footage and then it was into the edit. Take a look at the final video below.
