Adam ADAM BROADBENT (Resort videographer)

Adam studied at Eton College, UK, where he took his A-levels in Economics, Maths, Geography and Art. After finishing his exams he participated in a government research programme in Madagascar at the end of 2004. With his new found love of diving, university plans were put on hold and it wasn't long before he got in touch with Scubazoo.

After two interviews - one over a beer with Jason in Covent Garden and the other with Pieman and a coffee at Charing Cross Station, he finally joined Scubazoo in September 2005 at the age of 19, the youngest ever member. Now, after periods at Sipadan Water Village, Mabul and Layang Layang, Adam has established himself as a talented videographer and photographer.

SAM SAMANTHA J FERNANDEZ (Resort videographer)

Sam's interest in the underwater world was sparked at a young age whilst watching documentaries about marine life on tv. She started diving as early as she could, finding a great excuse when she volunteered for UK-based NGO Greenforce's Borneo Project for Coral Reef Biodiversity in 2002 and 2003, when she spent her time doing reef checks and surveys.

Sam graduated with a Diploma in Tourism Management at a local college in Kota Kinabalu in 2004, then worked in various travel agencies before heeding the call of the ocean and joining Scubazoo in 2006. She has subsequently fallen in love with leopard sharks...

Chia Chee Shiong @ Andy (Resort videographer)

Andy has been working in the diving industry for almost 10 years since his return from NZ having studied Business Tourism at the Auckland Institute of Technology. His love for the sea was ignited by his first dive at Pulau Sipadan’s house reef the 'Drop Off'. It wasn't long before Andy focussed his ever growing passion into going pro. Andy qualified as a PADI Instructor in 2001 going on to become a PADI Master Instructor, armed with 11 Specialties with over 2000 dives in the Celebes Sea.

Inspired by dive articles and dive magazines on a 12hr bumpy bus ride to Kuala Lumpur Andy found a new avenue to capture and share his love for the Big Blue, underwater photography. Andy bought his first underwater camera in June 2002 and is now an excited owner of a Nikon D70s. Following his creative heart Andy joined Scubazoo in February 2007 as a Videographer and continues to develop his photography skills and passion in his free time diving the famous East Malaysian dive sites of Sipadan, Mabul and Kapalai.

Andy strongly believes that a positive and constructive influence regarding the worlds Ocean’s can be made on people’s lives through the lenswork of a photographer and videographer. That belief supplemented by his passion for SE Asia's marine life make it a rare event for Andy to be found underwater without either a video or stills camera.

Sen Sen Wong (Resort videographer)

Sen graduated from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia with a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) in 2002. It was during his last year at university that he developed his interest in the underwater world and got certified as an Open Water Diver. Sen worked in a white collar environment for almost 3 years before following his passion for diving by becoming a PADI scuba instructor in April 2006 in Redang, Malaysia. Since then, he's completed more than 500 dives in and around South East Asia and the Maldives.

Although he only joined the Scubazoo ranks in June 2007 Sen has already run island 'Zoo's' in Sipadan/Mabul and three locations in the Maldives. The recent purchase of an underwater photography set-up has given Sen even more reason to rack up some serious bubble time.

christian Christian Loader (Resort videographer)

Christian developed a passion for marine life and diving in 2001 working as a volunteer on a coral reef conservation project with Coral Cay in the Philippines. He graduated from the University of Plymouth, UK, in 2005 with a BSc in Ocean Science, and holds an HSE commercial diving certificate.

In 2007 he went traveling and became a PADi instructor with five specialties. After visiting Thailand and Indonesia, Christian ended up teaching dive courses in Borneo and quickly fell in love with the marine life of Sipadan and Mabul. During this period Christian's focus changed to taking photos, and having recently upgraded to a Nikon D300, he is looking forward to developing his underwater photography further.

Christian's growing passion for underwater imaging led him to join Scubazoo in November 2007, and he is currently part of Scubazoo's camera team in the Maldives.
