'SAVING PLANET EARTH' - FOR CHILDREN'S BBC
Saving Planet Earth is an ambitious title for a TV programme but if you shoot for the stars maybe you'll hit the moon. On CBBC, seven lucky kids won the chance to step into Sir David Attenborough's distinguished shoes to become part of the Saving Planet Earth team, reporting on the plight of globally endangered animals in the wild.
One of these lucky seven, Josephine, was charged with visiting Borneo to investigate the plight of marine animals and coral reefs. SPE Borneo was shot in Kota Kinabalu and on Sabah's East coast islands, including Mabul, Selingan, and Lankayan.
Josephine first learnt to dive then got up close and personal with turtles and sharks, as well as watching a female turtle laying eggs, helping to replant broken coral and enjoying a visit with the Bajau 'Sea Gypsies', where she met and played with children of her own age from an entirely different culture.
Scubazoo acted as location managers for the production as well as filming al the underwater sequences.
In the words of David Attenborough: "If you are a child, this is your future. If you're a parent, it's your legacy. The time to act is now." more
